Clothing can be used as a physical boundary to protect our personal boundaries of privacy.
Society appears to be evolving in a way that challenges and reduces our personal boundaries and modern technology allows our privacy to be invaded. Mobile phones can interrupt us at any moment and social networking sites insure our every thought and move are public knowledge. We are frequently passing by, touching and talking to strangers in overcrowded environments.
These factors lead us to question and redefine appropriate levels of privacy.
Using strong colours and contrasting surfaces, garments can be used to create a boundary and help defend our personal boundaries.
